New Typology of Neighbourhood @ Paya Lebar

Urban Commons and Wellness

Tutor's name:

The vision of the project is to create a new neighbourhood typology in both urban scale and human scale to accommodate the changing lifestyle and continuous transformation in the future. Using architecture as a medium and a platform to create new relationship between activities and users. By redefining the notion of “work, live, play, learn,” the proposed neighbourhood design provides residents opportunity for choice and voice while deciding their own life pace.

Aims to break away from ‘object structure” of a typical school/office/shopping mall, as well as breaking away from carefully planned schedule and calendar days. Diversifying the way people move within the city and responding to individual’s objective time spend at the neighbourhood, in order to create alternative vision towards an integrative multi-layered social and urban fabric.
