Distantiation is a phenomenon that contributes to the never-ending global demand of consumer goods. It effectively airbrushes the consumer's responsibility to the environment as it removes us physically and psychologically from the impacts of the production and disposal phases. This thesis acknowledges the detriments of this constructed ignorance and seeks to unveil. It imagines a condition where the factory (production) is brought back to the city and explores how it can weave into the urban fabric while maintaining a degree of honesty that reveals the consequences of production.
