The 6th C of Singapore: Careful Consumption
Speculative Environments
Supervisor - Dr. Stephen Lau
The call for a new ‘must have’ is here. With food insecurity being a prevalent issue, there is a need for a change in priorities and lifestyles in Singaporeans. Studies have shown that the cause of food insecurity is not due to an under supply but rather an over demand of food. With society getting more fast- paced, Singaporeans are taking the unhealthier option of eating fast food and eating out. The stress levels are also of a record high. There is an urgency for the reevaluation of the unhealthy lifestyles, in hope that by slowing down and considering their wasteful and unhealthy actions, it will aid both food security and the general well being of Singaporeans.
